WIRELESS AND AUTONOMOUS SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND CONTROL OF ELEVATED FLARES
Flaring systems in a refinery or petro-chemical plant ensure the safe and efficient disposal of released gases. A flare is expected to operate 24 hours 365 days a year, therefore proper design and operation are extremely important.
Ignition of the waste gases can be done by pilot burners (flame) or for some applications by ignition lances (spark). The ignition system must reliably ignite the waste gas of the flare. If the ignition system fails, unburned hydrocarbons or toxic gases could be released into the atmosphere.
To ensure that the pilot or pilots of the flare systems remain on to ignite any flow of gas, Petresol S.A. de C.V. has developed a wireless and autonomous system for monitoring and control of elevated flares (SIAC Monitoring of Elevated Flares) that consists mainly of a local cabinet in the elevated flare to autonomous control with wireless communication via radio to a remote cabinet located in the control room in the installation.
With this new system ensures even more continuity and reliability of the operation, control and monitoring for elevated flares, also meeting with national and international regulations for these safety systems.
“SIAC Monitoring of Elevated Flares” is available to meet the needs of your installation. Our on-line video shows the system in operation.
